The Order of Christian Initiation for Adults (Formally RCIA) program at St. Pius X guides people on a journey of faith—one that involves our whole community. It's a program for those seeking to develop or deepen their relationship with Jesus Christ.
EXPLORE CATHOLICISMThe OCIA process is a series of carefully planned stages, marked by liturgical rites in the presence of the whole community, in which new Catholics embark on and join us in a continuing and deepening conversion into faith and discipleship. The OCIA process is divided into four phases to help the seeker, candidate or catechumen, in their Christian formation.
Presentations focus on the Catholic Church's teaching regarding sacraments, liturgy, social justice, conscience formation and morality, Mary, the saints, sacred scripture, prayer, and much more.
If you’ve ever considered joining the Catholic faith or learning more about our Catholic Church, now is the time! Contact Mary Schaffner in the Faith Formation office, and/or fill out this form and return it to Mary Schaffner.
Read testimonies of those who have previously participated in OCIA. Adult Confirmation - Are you or someone you know, a baptized Catholic who has never been confirmed? Confirmation, Baptism, and Eucharist are Sacraments of Initiation. Once you have celebrated these three sacraments, you are a full member of the Catholic Church! There will be a celebration of the Sacrament of Confirmation for adult Catholics in the spring at the Cathedral at Ss. Peter and Paul. Contact Mary Schaffner at 317466-3365 for more information.
