      the "little way" of EVANGELIZATION
We are all called to evangelize, and that can look many different ways. But we're all called to evangelize by "the little way". We want to imitate Christ in the way He evangelized. How did He do that? See how here

    • Adult Faith Formation at St. Pius X exists to make disciples of Jesus Christ. This task of disciple-making involves creating opportunities for people to encounter Jesus (evangelization), to learn what the Catholic Church teaches (catechists), to discover how to live the faith in their daily lives (discipleship), and equip them to share the Good News of the Gospel with others (missionary action).

A disciple is someone who has made the decision to give his or her life over to Jesus and seeks to imitate Him by fulfilling the greatest two commandments - to love God totally and one's neighbor as self -  taking up one's cross, and making disciples by leading them to Jesus. We offer programs like That Man Is You, Walking with Purpose, Mary's W.A.Y.,  Small Bible Study Groups and so many other programs to take part in.

We hope to accomplish our goals through the various ministries and events that we offer as part of Adult Faith Formation at St. Pius X Catholic Church. Please feel free to contact our office with any questions, concerns, or suggestions
      at Mary Mehringer

      1. Dive Into the Word of God: Bible in a Year Ministry

In 2021, Fr. Mike Schmitz launched a life-changing challenge that captured hearts around the world. His Bible in a Year podcast—where he reads and reflects on the entire Bible—quickly became the #1 podcast on Apple Podcasts in 2022, providing inspiration and hope to millions, Catholics and non-Catholics alike.
Now, St. Pius X invites YOU to take on this transformative journey!
In 2025, we challenge our parishioners and community to dedicate 15-30 minutes a day to encountering God through scripture by following Fr. Mike’s podcast. Whether you're a seasoned listener or new to the Word, there's a place for you here.
Join us every Saturday after the 5:00 PM Mass for a potluck meal and fellowship as we explore the week’s major themes together. Even if you fall behind on the podcast, come as you are. The beauty of God's Word is that there’s always a message waiting just for you.

What to Expect at Our Gatherings:

      • Warm Connection: We'll start with 15 minutes of catching up on life updates and sharing prayer intentions.
      • Rich Discussion: Together, we’ll reflect on the themes from the podcast and what God might be saying to us.
      • Spiritual Practice: If time allows, we’ll engage in Lectio Divina, a prayer exercise in which we listen to a scripture passage read and meditate over its contents to gain a deeper understanding.
No pressure. No prerequisites. Just come with an open heart.
When you immerse yourself in God’s Word, your life changes in beautiful ways. Whether you're a young adult seeking deeper purpose, a lifelong believer yearning for connection, or someone curious about what scripture has to offer—you belong here.
Let 2025 be the year you grow closer to God, and let us at St. Pius X be part of your journey.
If you have any questions or concerns, contact Mary Mehringer at 317-466-3365.

    Communion Ministry to the Sick
    • Holy Communion to the Sick

Celebrating the Eucharist is at the heart of our faith. Due to illness or disability, some parishioners can not join in the celebration, so we bring Eucharist to them. In our parish, teams of Eucharistic ministers serve five nursing/assisted living communities on a weekly basis. Others take Communion to the area hospitals, while others visit those who are home-bound. Please contact Charlie Dispenzieri if you or a loved one would like to have a Eucharistic minister visit you, and or you wish to volunteer.

    • What is Walking with Purpose?

Walking with Purpose is a Catholic Bible study program that aims to bring women to a deeper personal relationship with Jesus Christ. Longing for connection to live a Christian life? Connection to God and to other women? Walking with Purpose invites all women to journey through Scripture together and build relationships that matter! Join us for Walking with Purpose starting October 23rd,   7:00-8:30pm in the church conference rooms. Meets weekly for 22 weeks with the break for the holidays.

Exodus: Called to Freedom:  When God called Israel out of slavery in Egypt to a life of freedom as his people, it was the defining moment in Israel's history. Exodus: Called to Freedom looks through the lens of Christ and the Church to show that, more than just seeking to free his people from the domination of Pharaoh, God desired to free his people from the far more dangerous grip of sin. Presenter Tim Gray explains how the Exodus story is not just Israel's story but our story as well, because it reveals who God is and what he calls us to be. Discover the divine purpose behind the plagues on Egypt and how God's law reflects his love and concern. Lean the keys to authentic freedom and how a proper understanding of the Exodus can illuminate one's understanding of the Christian Faith. This study will be offered twice a week (Monday's at 7:00 p.m. and Thursday's at 10:00 a.m.) for ten weeks starting the week of September 11th and will meet in the Matthew/Mark conference rooms. OCIA

OCIA is a beautiful, spiritual process where we invite those interested in becoming Catholic to learn about our faith. Adults have the opportunity to learn about Catholicism, reflect on scripture, and deepen ones prayer life. If one chooses to become Catholic, reception into the Church typically occurs during the Easter Vigil. OCIA sessions will begin meeting on Tuesday evenings this September 12th, from 7:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m., in Matthew Mark conference rooms. If you have felt a little tug to investigate this possibility, contact Mary Mehringer in the Faith Formation office, and/or fill out this form  and return it to Kaitlyn Blandford.  Read testimonies of those who have previously participated in RCIA.

Adult Confirmation - Are you or someone you know, a baptized Catholic who has never been confirmed? Confirmation, Baptism, and Eucharist are Sacraments of Initiation. Once you have celebrated these three sacraments, you are a full member of the Catholic Church! There will be a celebration of the Sacrament of Confirmation for adult Catholics in the spring at the Cathedral at Ss. Peter and Paul. Contact Mary Mehringer  at 317-466-3365. for more information.
