Nearly 20 years after its founding, St. Pius X Parish took a significant step forward with the groundbreaking for a new church on January 6, 1974. Designed to seat 650 people, this new church marked a key milestone in the parish's growth and evolution. As the congregation continued to expand, the need for more space and updated facilities became clear, prompting further development.
In the late 1980s, the parish embarked on the ambitious "Expansion for the Nineties" capital campaign. With remarkable unity and support, parishioners raised $2.8 million to fund several vital projects. These included the construction of new parish offices, the renovation of the school and gymnasium, the creation of a new chapel, and a complete renovation of the existing church.
As a result of this campaign, the renovated church was able to accommodate 775 people, including seating in the newly added chapel. This expansion not only provided much-needed space for the growing congregation but also reinforced the parish's ongoing commitment to providing a welcoming and dynamic environment for worship, education, and community life. The improvements to the facilities reflected the parish's ability to adapt to the evolving needs of its members while remaining rooted in its core values of faith, service, and connection.
